Happy Speakeasy Customers

A couple of weeks ago we learned that our DSL provider, DirecTV DSL, would no longer be providing service, and we asked for suggestions. We received a number of recommendations for Speakeasy, and we signed up, anticipating the usual DSL struggle. But Speakeasy handled everything in our switch: their online system provided a log of the entire installation process, including a number of apparent hassles with PacBell (who owns our line), hassles which probably would have caused us to give up entirely. The setup kit arrived last week, and we're very happy with our service thus far.

I've had Speakeasy for a few months now, im an extremly happy customer. Their customer service is top of the notch in my opinion. Service is A+ as well. I'm glad I went for quality instead of cheaper deals.

Speakeasy is one of the most nearly flawless and smooth experiences I have ever had with any company providing any service. I've never gotten the run-around, I've never had a question go unanswered -- and for wifi people, they officially allow you to share your bandwidth with others via wireless networking.

I have had speakeasy for about four months now and they have been awesome. I had a billing mistake on their part, by about 300 dollars and they fixed it in 48 hours. Just called said "hey". They said "Okay, sorry". Credit card credit in 48 hours. It was good. Also, they let you share your connection with a WiFi station to other people.

I've been a speakeasy customer for close to two years now, and haven't had any problems to note! I recently had my line upgraded to a 1.5Mbs connection, and all it took was a very easy and friendly two minute phone call, and waiting about 12 hours! The line is always very fast too, I get a realistic 1.3Mb out of it, and with DSL, if you are getting realistic speeds that are about 80% or better than the quoted speed, you are in great shape.

I love how speakeasy doesn't frown on wi-fi sharing or internet sharing between computers. Too long did I have to set up routers to spoof IPs, lie to the customer service people, etc, in order to share connections. Its nice to have a company who actually encourages it, and fully supports it. That is getting more and more rare in todays telco world, and I'm happy to support a company that makes the right choices.

Also, the speakeasy.rpmfind.net service is great, if you are into linux! Fast, reliable access to a full rpmfind mirror makes my life much easier! :)

Damn, sorry to gush. ;)

When Speakeasy bought out Jetcity (a company I was happy with) the experience was maddening. They did nothing right! And they were rude as hell while doing it. I would sooner drink Drain-O then ever do business with Speakeasy again. Obviously ymmv.
